Parking Enforcement for HOAs and Condo Associations
HOA boards have to enforce parking rules fairly and consistently, or neighbors notice. California's towing law specifically includes common interest development associations, and we help boards and managers use it the right way.
Common problems we solve
- • RVs, boats, and trailers stored in common areas
- • Guest parking used as long-term storage
- • Cars parked in fire lanes on narrow private streets
- • Commercial vehicles parked overnight against the CC&Rs
How we help
- • Signs that meet CVC §22658 at every community entrance
- • Free red curb and fire lane painting on private streets
- • A written agreement naming which board members or managers can authorize tows
- • General authorization for fire lane and hydrant violations, as the law allows
- • Clear records for every tow, kept for three years
Line up your rules with the law
Your parking rules should be adopted properly under your governing documents and match what your signs say. Your community manager or HOA attorney can confirm the process for your association, and we'll make sure the towing side follows Vehicle Code §22658.

Frequently asked questions
Who can authorize a tow for an HOA?
Section 22658 lets an association of a common interest development, or its employee or agent, authorize tows. Your towing agreement lists the specific people, such as the community manager or designated board members.
Can you tow an RV parked in a common area?
If your rules prohibit it and compliant signs are posted, yes, with a signed authorization. We tow cars, pickups, and smaller RVs and trailers. Tell us about larger vehicles in advance so we can plan the right equipment.
